8月8日傍晚，一场别开生面的“白日焰火”在黄浦江上上演，表演前后持续了大约八分钟，不少市民对这 场白天绽放的烟火感到十分新奇，有些不明就里的群众还因此报警，上海警方对此在微博上开玩笑回应说“警察蜀黍也被吓到了”。
整个演出分为“挽歌”“追忆”和“慰藉”三个篇章，这场表演实际上是艺术家蔡国强为其个展《九级浪 》而策划的，他用漫天的烟花诠释“自然之死”的主题，这场表演使整个上海为之惊艳，也有不少人指出 ，这会给上海的环境带来严重的污染，而组织者表示，这场活动事先已经取得了消防、环保以及公安等部 门的审批，其表演所用的产品均符合环保标准，主要是用色素、食品粉等无毒燃料成分构成。
蔡国强由于其火药艺术而受人瞩目，使其在西方世界成为受人追捧的偶像，而他在北京奥运会时更是担任了焰火表演的总监，这是他的白日焰火第一次来到上海。
本年度共有18场焰火秀
2014年度浏阳周末焰火总共有18场，从5月1日持续至11月28日，6月—8月以及10月每月各有三场，其他月份为每个月各有两场。
2014年度浏阳周末焰火大赛具体时间表：
五月：1日 、16日
六月：1日（儿童节）、13日、27日
七月：1日（建党节）、11日 25日
八月：1日（建军节）、8日、 22日
九月：8日（中秋节）、 19日
十月：1日（国庆节）、17日、31日
十一月：14日、28日
长沙橘子洲焰火重新绽放
5月3日晚上，与橘子洲相别超过半年的音乐焰火在湘江畔重新绽放，今年的橘子洲周末焰火将从今年5月持续至10月。
据悉，蒙华铁路岳吉段将于今年9月15日实现控制性开工，年底将全线开工。
蒙华铁路作为贯穿蒙陕甘宁地区的铁路煤运通道，通过七个省区，而这条通道今后也将成为浏阳花炮外运的一条重要货运通道，这将改变目前浏阳花炮仅通过公路外运的现状，这一举措将大大降低花炮运输的成本。
浏阳被认为是花炮的发源地，浏阳花炮的历史最早可以追溯到唐宋时期，然而直到今日，这个城市仍是中国花炮的最大产地，其生产量占全国花炮总量的七成，出口量占到全国的六成，内销的份额也占到了全国的一半，如今它所生产的高质量的烟花已经进入全世界的市场。

There were some heavily rain in south of China last few days, the fireworks factories in Liuyang, Liling, Shangli, Wangzai etc suffered flood damage baddly, some of them still have not got out the disaster. The “El Nino”, refers to the large area in eauator Middle East Pacific have the phenomenon of abnormal warm, it comes from the ocean, but control the atmosphere. Water temperature rise, it will have a significant impact of the global average temperature. During el nino years, global average temperatures will rise by 0.1℃. El Nino status continued develop and became elnino events, that will make frequent disastrous weather around the world.
周四在马德拉斯高等法院，泰米尔纳德邦警察为自己失败逮捕一名被指控在锡瓦卡西销售非法进口的中国爆竹的男子进行了严肃的申辩。
巴布被发现售卖中国烟花，法院还针对警察在巴布的锡瓦卡西车厂逮捕被告的案件做了说明，在印度售卖中国烟花这是禁止的。 5月14日， 锡瓦卡西的税务员从他的仓库缴获了中国烟花。
公益诉讼（ PIL）在马杜赖台被提出，这个诉讼在向联盟财政部长和炸药的主要控制下令，在全国各地的爆炸性许可证的所有端口，所有楼宇巡查缴获非法进口炸药，摧毁走私项目。
在他的公益诉讼中，锡瓦卡西的Muthukrishnan辩称，反社会分子进口非法炸药，但是当权的人保持沉默。原告还寻求CBI调查此事。
当这件事被提交上去之前，法官Ñ Kirubakaran和S Vaidyanathan在周三分别进行了审判，法官曾试图从政府方面的报告情况来判断，并将案件押后至周四。
因此，当这个案件在周四被传上法庭，政府告诉法庭，被告巴布已经在周三先行提交保释申请。
对此，法院对警察提问了大量的问题。
“被告是在5月14日被抓，三天之后，你（警察）提交了这个案件，而且这个案件是在5月17日被记录在案，是什么阻止你逮捕被告人？你允许他提前提交保释申请。你（警察）是跟被告人狼狈为奸的吗？ “法院说。
这个案件涉及到多数人民的生活。你应该在一定程度上有爱国主义。中国的烟花对印度的影响在很早之前就被众人所知，法院说。
最后，在周五高等法院向政府提交了对逮捕被告情况的细节。
