PRESS RELEASE :Trump’s Proposed 10% Tariffs on Chinese Imports

Trump announced a 10% Tariff will go into effect September 1st.     Per our understanding, goods must leave China prior to Sept. 1st in order to avoid the Tariff.

It takes approximately two weeks from the time of loading in Liuyang until departure from the Shanghai port.    If you wanted to try to urgently ship a container and avoid the tariff, we would need to load before August 15th.

Therefore, we ask that you place your order no later than August 10th in order to give us time to process it.  Obviously earlier if possible.

Please let us know if there are any questions.

WASHINGTON – National Fireworks Association (NFA) Secretary Steve Houser today released the following statement after President Trump announced he’s proposing 10% tariffs beginning September 1 on $300 billion worth of Chinese imports:

“It’s unfortunate that the President has chosen to go this route again. It’s unfortunate for the small family businesses who import and distribute fireworks. It’s unfortunate for the nonprofit organizations like Veteran’s groups, school boosters and churches who sell them.

“The President himself has tweeted in the past that tariffs are taxation. They are; and American’s don’t need a boom tax on their fireworks. Unless the President proposes to radically change the wage and regulatory environment, China will remain the source for 95% of our nation’s consumer fireworks.  We simply have no other option. This will force us to simply suffer under another tax.”
